DESCRIPTION
The new Salathé approach shoe – stable, precise and lightweight – has been developed to meet the needs of anyone who has always dreamed of a ‘from car to summit’ product.
Named after one of the most iconic climbing locations, it was created for via ferrata and technical approaches, but its extreme comfort and versatility make it perfect for trekking and hiking.
The distinctive “up-cut” design combines the freedom of a low-cut shoe with the protection of a mid-cut. The fit is snug and precise thanks to the use of elastic materials and a unique construction with lacing right to the toe.
The upper, in embossed suede, is protected by a 360° rand to increase its resistance to wear and abrasion against rocks and scree. The Salathè is water-repellent thanks to the specific Hydroblock® treatment, and its waterproofing is guaranteed by the GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining.
The stretchy, breathable tongue significantly enhances the shoe’s comfort, as does the pre-formed collar, crafted using a new technology that provides support whilst optimising material usage.
Its construction gives the shoe cushioning and protection, whilst the Vibram® Pepe outsole with Megagrip® compound ensures excellent grip on various types of terrain.
